This gallery of work from my classes at Diablo Valley College comes from three different classrooms.

Construction Documents features some of the work from the Working Drawings class (Spring 2009). For this class we hand drafted 12 pages of construction documents under the direction of Max Jacobson, a principle at JWS/D Architects of Berkeley. These drawings were based on a residential project his office was undertaking. These included a site plan, floor plans, framing plans, elevations and section views as well as structural details of roof, foundation, stairs, garage and more. Limitations of my scanner prevent me from showing more than some small sections of the drawings, but enough to get the feel for the work we undertook. The complete set is avaiable for inspection in an interview setting.

AutoCAD includes work from my Advanced AutoCAD class (Fall 2009). Do to the nature of the class, many of the assignments involved mechanical engineering projects, which do stretch one's understanding of how to use the software to achieve a complex drawing. Our final projects, using AutoCAD's 3d capabilities, involved modeling a kitchen, and a seaside pavilion that I had previously designed in another class.

Sketchbook shows general drawing, mostly from the sketchbook we kept for my Introduction to Architecture and Environmental Design class (Fall 2009). Over the years I have developed a loose gestural style of drawing, sometimes with a casual wayward line, and at other times built strongly around light and shadow.

I anticipate that this section will continue to develop. Access to the large format scanner at DVC campus should allow me to show more of the large scale drawings and designs I've undertaken, and future classes will provide more work, more development.

Check back often and look for it!
